FASHION TRENDS Spring / Summer 2013

Spring / Summer 2013
FASHION TRENDS

Spring is just around the corner. Time to sort out the "old" stuff from our wardrobe to get some new hot trendy pieces in. The fashion trends for the summer 2013 play with contrasts of graphic prints, romantic wanderlust and iridescent sheen. Clothes become transparent, collar and sleeves are decorated with ruffles and her neck is adorned with fine jewels.

In this year's season a lot of designers like Etro, Gareth Pugh, Haider Ackermann, Emilio Pucci, Gabriele, Colangelo, No. 21 and Aquilano Rimondiwere were inspired by the eastern culture. Discover fire dragon, lotus flower, peony and hibiscus motifs in prints which hail from the other side of the world.

METALLICS

As seen on the runway of Alexander Wang, Versace, Simone Rocha, Topshop, Prorsum, Damir Doma, Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Mark Fast and Jonathan Saunders, shimmering metallics set the tone for next summer. But not only colours like silver, gold and copper tones, but also blue, violet, pink and green.

SKY BLUE & GRAS GREEN

Two colors you can definitely wear this summer are green and blue. Stella McCartney, Creatures of the Wind, Acne, Michael Kors, Carlos Miele, Louis Vuitton, PPQ and Rag & Bone are already fans of the green colour. The counterpart to this year's green is represented by Matthew Williamson, Michael Kors, Naeem Khan, Rag & Bone, Rebecca Minkoff, Cacharel and Giorgio Armani.

TRANSPARENCY

Transparent blouses are nothing new but this year we don't talk about lace dresses a la Dolce & Gabbana which cover the most essential parts. No, we are talking about completely transparent materials.

RUFFLES

DOTS

Fashion goes back to Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany’s 1950s polka dot dress, evoking a highly feminine delicacy and sophistication next summer. The classic black and white polka dot duet is the ultimate detail for a discreet contrast in a minimalist look with an elegant edge.

TIGHT NECKLASES

The jewelery in the summer 2013 is focused on our neck. Designers such as Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy and Alber Elbaz for Lanvin adorn the necks of the models with opulent tire of metal, Plexiglas and beads. At Christian Dior and Proenza Schouler are simple, thick bands in black and red, which are tied around the neck. Spiny rock crystal tire attracted to the show by Missoni attention to itself. No less impressive is the jewelry of the Alexander McQueen show: XXL plastic collars with bees applications wrapped around the necks of the models.

Football & Fashion

F & F

Football & Fashion
Part I

Two different words ... two different worlds. At first sight, you may think that these two words do not have much in common. But that's not quite true. Both of them can make our hearts beat faster. Whether it's the emotional exclamation after a goal in a football stadium or the graceful appearance of the models in the new Autumn / Winter collection.

In this blog series I would like to point out some similarities and connections between these.. oh so different topics.

Fashion houses support football clubs

Modern fashion houses noticed the big influence of footballers to their audience. So why not benefit? Putting famous footballers in their outfits became an interesting marketing strategy.
